I used a selection of photographs of various MOD boats (all ex range safety boats) as references and the adaptation was fairly simple being essentially cosmetic i.e. the blue and yellow chequering, red and yellow diagonal stripes, MOD Police logos etc. They all showed decks without wash ports so I simply filled-in the ones on the deck that was supplied with the kit. Also there is a thin black rubber strip round the decks of all the boats so I represented this with self-adhesive black coachline from Model Technics. Details of cylindrical radar deflector and yellow marker buoys were scratch built.

After the waterslide transfers were ink-jet printed I allowed them to dry thoroughly, usually around 24 hours, and then gave them three thin coats of transparent varnish (acrylic spray) which was purchased from Crafty Computer Paper  (www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk). When this was dry I cut-out the transfers and applied them to the boat in the normal way. When they had thoroughly dried on the boat I gave them two coats of clear polyurethane varnish (Ronseal) which was brushed on.
